Meeting with Prof. Edward Rymar “Barnim I – Prince of the breakthrough”.
On Wednesday 7 December 2022, in the conference room of the Institute of History at the University of Szczecin, a meeting was held with Professor Edward Rymar, a retired lecturer from the US, entitled ‘Barnim I – the Prince of the Breakthrough’ / ‘Barnim I – Fürst des Durchbruchs’. The meeting was devoted to a presentation of the Professor’s work related to one of the most important and longest-reigning rulers of Pomerania, during whose reign the early medieval state became a fully-fledged medieval state organism, in which currents of European culture were already well established, collected in his latest publication – a monograph on this eminent Griffin. This is the first full monograph on this ruler. The meeting was held as part of a series of events – workshops entitled. “Perspektiven der Border Region Studies in Szczecin” / “Perspektiven der Border Region Studies in Szczecin”.
