    Project statistics

Although the project has come to an end at the turn of the year it may be worth publishing some more information about the project. We will also continue to report on the impact of the project, such as publications or activities that are the result of the collaboration undertaken here.
To begin with, it is worth presenting some statistics about the project. The project activities were carried out by the three partners – the University of Szczecin, Schwedt City Museums and the Department of Historical Studies at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder).
A total of 41 activities were prepared. A total of 2,038 people took part in them, including 1,862 people directly, i.e. without remote mode. It should be noted here that events of an online or hybrid nature were only implemented by the partner from Szczecin. Five activities, including 1 international conference and four workshops were online only. However, thanks to pandemic-accelerated technological and mental modernisation, it was possible to use the experience of online activities for hybrid activities, hence there were experts or remote participants at virtually every conference or workshop. This group was dominated by Poles – 899 and Germans – 1,051, but representatives of other nations – Ukraine, Sweden, Denmark, France, and other nationalities (Czechs, Baltic States, India, Canada, USA, and before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine also Russians) also participated. Almost half of all participants were women – 998.
The University of Szczecin organised eight international conferences, four study tours, three doctoral workshops, two summer schools and 12 workshops on various topics. They were attended by 924 people, 416 of whom were women (748 directly, including 59 women), including 720 Poles, 122 Germans, 23 Ukrainians, 11 French, 9 Swedes, 5 Danes, 4 Belarusians and representatives of other nations, including those from outside Europe (USA, India, Singapore, Canada). The conferences alone were attended by 414 people, 108 of them remotely, 112 of whom were experts from more than a dozen countries on three continents. The doctoral schools were attended by 68 people (14 remotely) and the summer schools by 48 people, mainly from Poland, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

The main aim of the Schwedt City Museums was to prepare the exhibition and surround it with workshops, hence it is more difficult to give full statistics. In any case, more than 900 people took part in the Schwedt activities, including 714 visitors to the exhibition in Schwedt alone, around 130 people from Poland and Germany attended workshops held in towns on the German and Polish sides of the border, and more than 60 people attended exhibition openings in Schwedt and Kulice. More than half of these participants were women.
Viadrina University prepared six events, including one international conference, one workshop and four study tours. These activities were attended by 209 people, 118 of whom were women. The majority were German (113 people) and Polish (91 people), but there were also representatives of other nations. The conference was attended by 62 people (33 women; 24 Germans, 36 Poles), the workshops by 45 people (26 women, 27 Germans and 18 Poles), and the expeditions by 102 people (including 59 women; 62 Germans, 37 Poles).
It is perhaps worth looking further at the impact of the project. It is difficult to measure without an exact tool, but the Facebook page can be used. Up to and including 30 December 2022, 150 posts had been published on the project’s official profile. These included announcements, reports, invitations, photos and videos of our activities. Although this is the official medium of the project, our partners also had their own media, and here mainly single announcements and reports and reports appeared, information about the Szczecin activities predominated, mainly due to their high number. In any case, the impact shown by the Facebook statistics showed the enormous potential of the project. All posts were viewed 92,402 times, with a reach of 81,748. More than 13,000 activities were recorded, including 282 shares.
