Spring School “Identity-Ritual-Death in the Baltic Sea Region”

The Interdisciplinary Spring School “Identity-Ritual-Death in the Baltic Sea Region”, which took place at the MOBI in Kulice, came to an end on 4 June. The school was attended by representatives of universities from Poland (Szczecin, Poznan) and abroad, including Germany and Slovenia, and experts from IH PAN from Warsaw, the University of Bern from Switzerland, and the museum in Giecz. An important element of the meeting were study trips to Stralsund and Kamień Pomorski, Świerzno and Trzebiatów, where excellent examples of the sepulchral culture of old Pomerania are preserved. The event was organised by archaeologists from the US Department of Archaeology under the scientific coordination of Dr Katarzyna Ślusarska. Interesting discussions, as well as the interest of participants from outside Szczecin, indicate that not only the subject matter of the event was interesting, but also the formula of the Spring School proved to be successful and should be continued in future years. We invite you to view a photo-report from the event.
