History of the peasants – history of the people – folk history
A workshop entitled “History of the peasants – history of the people – folk history, or how to restore the forgotten majority of the society to historiography” took place on 2 June 2022 in the conference room of the Institute of History, University of Szczecin. It was led by Tomasz Wiślicz, PhD, Professor IH PAN. The meeting discussed the problem of folk history, which is currently receiving a lot of public attention in Poland and is treated as discursive history in relation to the metrified image of Polish history. It is therefore not surprising that a long discussion took place. The meeting was attended by students and employees of IH US.
